Changing Who You Become

Week 8, we took a deeper look at the first section of the novel, and how "choice" plays a role in Junior's life.

"And this book says something else: that as much as you can love your parents, as much as you can love your community, as much as you can love your family, you can also be radically different from them.

Hello, Is this Thing On? Or Welcome to Our Class Blog

This is a blog for my 9am English 100 comp students at SRJC. Well, ok, really it's a blog for all of us to think, talk, discover and muse about writing, teaching, social media, digital literacy, and all things education related with each other and anyone else interested in these things. It's a way to connect, to have a conversation, to, you know, +1, in Google speak. And, not to mention a place to debate the really important things, like who would win in an Epic Rap Battle between Dr. Seuss and Will Shakespeare. Oh and one last thing. My money's on Geisel...they both flow, but I'm partial to a cat in a hat, a fish on a dish, and a cake on a rake, myself.
